Gatsibo: School Directors asked to improve quality of education
Ambroise Ruboneza mayor of Gatsibo district has called on head teachers of primary and secondary schools in Gatsibo district to put more effort in their work as a way of improving the quality of education.
The call was made on February 11, 2014 during the meeting between Gatsibo district administration and Directors of primary and secondary schools in Gatsibo.
On the side of head teachers, they said that they are going to work hard harder so that students pass National examinations with very good grades this year 2014.
During the meeting, mayor Ruboneza asked the heads of schools to create changes in the school systems to effect quality education
On this, he explains that head teachers should work with parents to prevent students from dropping out of school to work as home keepers.
When asked why the school didn’t perform well, head of Bihinga secondary school, Olive Mukagasana revealed that the school insufficient staff but strategies are being laid to enable students perform better in 2014.
She revealed that some of the strategies are to work closely and hold meetings with teachers more often.
There are 86 primary schools and 58 secondary schools in Gatsibo district.
