Nyamagabe: Over 1, 400 youths turn up for Urugerero in Nyamagabe
Over 1, 400 advanced level leavers from all sectors of Nyamagabe district turned up for the Urugerero Civic Education Training that kicked off on December 3, 2013.
The 3 weeks’ training will see youths learn on Civic Education, Culture, basic military knowledge, Technical and Vocational Skills, hygiene. The youths will set targets in line with the acquired knowledge.
The program has two phases which involve theory and practical trainings, then sensitizing the youths towards transforming the nation from the grassroots.
The program carried out at Mbuga Technical School is the second of its kind in Nyamagabe district.
“You are the nation’s strength. After this training, spread the light of all you have learnt to your respective communities,” Jeanne Izabiliza, Executive Secretary of the Southern Province advised the Youths.
Urugerero is a voluntary and national service programme that educates Rwandan youths about patriotism and culture.
Its spearheaded by Itorero National Task Force and it aims at changing people perceptions and focus on the developmental agenda.
