UNR staff to handle local school management
The administrative council of a school known as “Ecole Autonome de Butare” has handed the management of the school over to Imanzi Investment Group (IIG) Ltd, a staff company of the National University of Rwanda (NUR).
The development came out of negotiations between two sides after realizing that the management committee of the school was not in a good position to meet the school’s vision of excellence performance.
According to Damas Rwabutobo, the chairman of the administrative council, the management committee made of parents who initiated the school in 1995 was not able to help the school perform well.
Rwabutobo explained that the idea to hand the management of Ecole Autonome de Butare over IIG Ltd aims at enabling the school to rank among the best performers at the local level and if possible at the national level.
According to the Vice President of IIG Ltd Jean Bosco Shema promised that his company committed to do its best to see the school performs well so that it can attract more students to join it.
He said that IIG Ltd plans to buy suitable equipments for the school and improve the livelihood of teachers and infrastructure so that they improve the quality of education at Ecole Autonome de Butare.
The handover ceremony was witnessed by different categories of stakeholders including the Huye District administration, Ngoma Sector, teachers, parents and IIG Ltd Board members.
On behalf of the District of Huye, the Director of Education, Jean Baptiste Irahoza commended IIG Ltd for their development initiatives.
“IIG Ltd deserves credit for their development initiatives and today’s decision of investing in education. We are optimistic that the school will revive and shine”, said Irahoza.
He noted that the District is ready to collaborate with the new management of the school for the same vision of the school’s excellent performance.
