Ruhango: Students to be getting lunch from schools
Most schools in Ruhango district started offering lunch meals to students who have been going back home for lunch and meeting many problems which affected their general performance in class.
This started Monday 12/08/2013 while opening the third term in a Primary school called Centre Scolaire Amizero, and will be spread through all schools in this district as a way of helping children perform better in school.
“Among the many problems faced when we go back home for lunch is the long distances we have to make to our homes hence get tired, and problems of rain which may force us to miss lessons since sometimes we do not have means of getting back to school”, said the children of this school.
“They are times we go back home for lunch and then find when it’s not yet ready and here we have to wait and therefore we go back to school late” ,said one student at the school.
Feeding children from school was a request put up by the school parents who said that their children went through hard and thin to get what to feed their stomachs with.
“Some of us have to go back and prepare lunch for our children yet other still have to take it to schools which is not easy for us”, said the many parents to this school.
They therefore thanked this school for implementing such a request.
