Head teachers in Rulindo district have said that teachers’ allowances should be given much attention to encourage teachers in providing quality education.

Some teachers say that when one gets an allowance, it triggers morale in him or her which is of great importance to the students.

However, there are some teachers that get allowances and yet put little effort on the quality of what they educate the children.

Rutaganira, Head teacher of Groupe scolaire Rusasa in Ntarabana sector in Rulindo district asserts that allowances for teachers are a must.

“A teacher is a foundation of everything especially knowledge, that’s why he or she should be given an appreciation. Parents should know they ought to give teachers allowances for their children to study well,” he highlights.

Barteremie Busoro, head teacher of Groupe scolaire Ntarabana denotes that a teacher who does not carry out his job as required should be replaced by a capable teacher.

Busoro adds: “Such teachers should be replaced by capable teachers so that children are not affected academically.”

Marie Josee Mukakanani, in charge of education in Ntarabana sector confirms that allowances should be provided saying teachers in Rulindo get it and carry out their duties well with an exception of the rare teachers that can do the opposite.
