Youth are asking parents of school dropouts in Nyagihanga sector in Gatsibo district to send the children back to school since they are the reason for the dropout.

This was revealed by some of the youth in Nyagihanga sector in Gatsibo district saying that parents stop children from school to help them with chores.

This leads to young girls to become pregnant because they resort to prostitution after dropping out of school, reveals Seraphine Uwamahoro, a resident of Nyagahanga sector.

The executive secretary of Nyagihanga sector, Jean Claude Niyibizi asserts that this problem existed before but was solved after sensitizing parents on sending their children back to school.

For some time, the problem of dropping from school has been embarked on in Gatsibo district after many girls got pregnant and other youth doing drugs.

Gatsibo district administration together with development partners like World Vision that cares for children and youth devised measures to solve the problem.
