Teachers Savings and Credit Cooperative (Umwalimu SACCO) has done much to change the social life and economic development of teachers who are its members.
Though the life of a teacher has not yet reached the satisfactory stage, they have taken a bigger step they would not have done without Umwalimu SACCO.
Marie Grace Mukarenzaho a teacher at Bitare Primary School says that Umwalimu SACCO got a teacher out of complicated life. With this cooperative, they are able to make small scale projects and they are funded and get credits easily and in a very short period of time.
Aphrodise Nambaje the mayor of Ngoma district said that a teacher of the present time has to move with the time towards the development. “A teacher is Intore and he/she always works to become exemplary and he understands. He moves along development and technology, he is the pillar of our development.”
Some resolutions have been devised to develop a teacher since it is known that their salary is so little for their work done like Teachers Savings and Credit Cooperative (Umwalimu SACCO) and monthly allowances.
Though teachers say that these programs are good and helpful to them, their salary leaves behind a lot to be desired and they would appreciate it if some amendments were considered towards their salaries.
